October 2003 : Newsletter
Check This Out!
Those that have followed EnFlex Corp. over the last few years have probably notices that we have been slow at updating our web site. As part of our enhanced communications program, of which this newsletter is one part, we are embarking on an incremental upgrade path for our web site. By going to www.enflex.net you will see the first vestiges of this change. Some of the improvements to the web site include:
- A new look and feel which includes our new logo and navigation mechanism
- Updated product information
- Case studies
- Access to past issues of the EnFlex Newsletter, and
- New demonstrations
Parts of our web site are under construction at this time so we ask for your continued patience as we continue to post additional and more useful information. In the coming months we will be adding many new features including demonstrations from active customer sites. With 3,000 EnFlex Control Servers in the field we have a lot of unique and innovative applications to highlight.
If you have any suggestions or comments regarding our website or you have ideas for new features, please contact us. Thanks for your continued support.

First Production G-100s Ship
EnFlex has completed the development and testing of a new platform for the EnFlex Site Control Server software and device drivers, Following many months of testing both in our labs as well as at beta sites of key customers. EnFlex is now satisfied with the quality and functionality of the new Control Server and will be shipping the first production models of this new platform to our customers in the coming weeks.
The G-100 offers a different set of features than the venerable MG-200 Control Server. We are asking customers to checkout the G-100’s to see how it fits upcoming projects. Contact EnFlex Sales or get the datasheet on our web site at http://www.enflex.net/products/g100.pdf.
The Way to a Healthy Project
Over the past few months, EnFlex has begun a number of projects for Fortune 1,000 companies. We have found that the delivery of solutions that meet the unique requirements of each customer are sometimes very complex. Projects may appear to be relatively simple, yet they are not always as straightforward as they appear. We have found that if we try to shortcut by combining or skipping a step, the end result is always the return to the skipped step, and proceed from there to the end. The following are the major steps we have found to be necessary to successfully deliver an enterprise-wide integration implementation:
- Define the client’s key problems, goals, constraints, and preferred methods.
- Develop and depict a proposed solution with a simple graphical architectural diagram. Keep this view simple!
- Establish with the customer, an economic model for the project which includes a budget and the associated return on investment.
- Confirm the customer’s expectations for each element of the proposed solution.
- Deliver the final timeline and budget for the customer’s approval
- Conduct regular updates and periodic system reviews with the customer.
- Execute on time and budget
- Provide the training and support necessary to transition from an EnFlex operated solution to a customer owned solution
